Story of becoming Taj Mahal
Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in memory of his wife Arjumand Banu Begum, also known as Mumtaz Mahal. Of all the Begum of Shah Jahan, the closest to her was Mumtaz Mahal. But Begum Mumtaz Mahal died while giving birth to her fourteenth child, her fourteenth name was Gauhar Begum. Due to which Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan was very hurt, because he used to love Begum Mumtaz Mahal without any reason. That is why he wanted to build some historical heritage in his memory, in which the Taj Mahal was built. Shah Jahan wanted the world to always remember Mumtaz and his love story.
History of Taj construction
The construction of the Taj Mahal started in 1632, which took a full 22 years to build. A council of architects from India, Persia, Central Asia and other countries had prepared a plan for the construction of this building. To build the Taj Mahal, an artisan was called from Baghdad who could carve curved letters on the stone. Similarly, the artisan called from Bukhara city, which is located in Central Asia, was skilled in carving flowers on marble stones. Daksha artisans residing in Istanbul, Turkey were called to build domes of great stature and Daksha artisans were summoned from Samarkand to build minarets.
Thus, in the 6 months prior to the construction of the Taj Mahal, skilled artisans were carved out of which 37 skilled artisans were assembled, under whose supervision 25000 laborers were employed. The contents of the Taj Mahal were brought from all over India and Central Asia. A fleet of 1000 elephants was assisted in bringing this material to the construction site. The central dome of the Taj Mahal is 187 feet high. The red sand stone of the Taj Mahal was brought from Fatehpur Sikri, Jasper from Punjab, Jade and Christal from China, Turkoish i.e. blue stone from Tibet, Lepis Lazuli and Sefair from Sri Lanka, coal from Arabia and diamonds from Cornelian and Panna. Similarly, the marble stone used in the construction of the Taj was brought from Makrana, Rajasthan. A total of 28 types of rare, valuable and semi-precious stones were used in the Taj Mahal etching at the Taj Mahal.
The construction of the Taj Mahal was finished around 1643, but still work was done for 10 years to enhance its beauty. The construction of the Taj Mahal was completed in about 1653 and it cost about 32 million rupees to build it at that time.

Entrance Gates of Taj Mahal
The main entrance to the Taj Mahal is through the south gate. This entrance is 151 feet long and 117 feet wide and the height of this entrance is 100 feet. Tourists enter the main complex with small gates next to the main entrance. The main entrance to the Taj Mahal is made of red sandstone. This main gate is 30 meters high. Quranic verses in Arabic script are carved on this main gate. Above this main gate is a small Hindu-style dome-shaped pavilion and looks absolutely magnificent.

The graves of both Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal are inside the Taj Mahal. Mumtaz Mahal tomb is placed in the middle of the Taj Mahal. Begum Mumtaz Mahal tomb made of large and white marble, her tomb is quite designed. According to Muslim tradition, the tomb is elaborately decorated, so the body of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz is buried in its comparatively simple, real graves with faces facing the right and Mecca. The tomb of Mumtaz Mahal is located in the inner chamber. The base of his tomb is about 55 meters. The base of his grave and the adornment form above are both studded with precious stones and gems. The calligraphy done on this is the recognition and appreciation of Mumtaz. Shah Jahan's tomb is on the south side of Mumtaz's tomb. It is said that drops of water fall on his grave during the first monsoon rains. There were many precious gems in the Taj Mahal, but the British took them out.
